Adele Magaud, originally from Martigues, France, began her journey in Track and Field at the age of 9 with the Martigues Sports Athletisme Club. In 2019, she was recruited to run college track and cross-country in the U.S. on an athletic scholarship. For four years she competed for the University of South Alabama, where she earned multiple All-Sun Belt honors, set many PRs and was named team captain her junior and senior year. After graduating, Adele transferred to Northwestern University to continue her cross-country career and complete a Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability. She recently started her career as a Supply Chain and Sustainability Manager and is thrilled to join SCTC, finding balance in her professional and athletic life. Adele loves pushing limits alongside her teammates, making every run a chance to grow together and build stronger bonds.
Brett attended Highland Park HS in IL where he was All-State in cross country and track. He graduated from Boston University in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Finance/Information Systems and a Master's in Business Analytics, and currently works as a technology consultant in Chicago. While running for BU, he was a 6-time Patriot League medalist and team captain. Brett looks to focus on shorter races this spring for SCTC.
Caitie McGauley is originally from St. Paul, MN, and ran cross country at Mahtomedi High School where she was a two-time conference champion and state participant. Caitie went on to run at Marquette University, where she majored in Biomedical Sciences for undergrad and later earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. While at Marquette, Caitie competed in many Big East Conference Championships, earned All-Conference honors in cross country, and was captain her senior year. In her post-collegiate running career she switched her focus to the marathon, and recently ran a PB of 2:44 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Caitie recently moved to Chicago to begin her career as a Physician Assistant, currently specializing in Urology. Caitie just finished up an amazing year where she had PB’s in the 8k, Half Marathon and took 51st in the NYC Marathon running 2:46.
Carlos started running his senior in high school at Waubonsie Valley in Aurora, IL before attending University of Illinois Chicago. While earning his BA in Economics and a minor in Finance; Carlos posted some impressive times clocking 14:22 in the 5k and 29:45 in the 10k while winning the conference title in cross country. He has had a great start to his SCTC career running a 1:06 half in Indy and setting a big PB in 8k running 23:54 this March. Carlos recently ran his debut marathon at Chicago in a quick 2:20.
Claire Linn grew up in Columbus, OH where she first began running in 7th grade. She competed in many events in track, but excelled best at the 800 her senior year. She continued her running journey for 5 years at Miami University where she majored in marketing for undergrad and earned her Master of Science in Business Analytics. At Miami, Claire competed in several MAC championship meets and earned all conference honors 3 times. After a short running hiatus, Claire missed the running community and decided to rejoin after moving to the Chicago area. Claire is looking forward to becoming re-immersed in the running culture, getting ingrained in the Chicago running scene, and working on improving her times while training with teammates. Claire currently works for Lev as a campaign manager focused on email marketing consulting.
Elizabeth grew up in Dayton, Ohio and started running in 7th grade. She ran track and cross country at Villanova and ended her four years as the #8 10k runner in Villanova history. After studying quantitative finance in college, she is now moving to Chicago to pursue a career in consulting. Even the 10k felt a bit short in college, so Elizabeth is excited to venture into the longer races and hit the roads alongside her new SCTC teammates!
Eric is a Kansas-native whom after a career at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS where he competed his BS in Mathematics and Chemistry as well as being a 5-time All-American joined the team in 2022. He was primarily a 800/1500m runner in college, but has since then expanded his sights toward enjoying different distances ranging from 5K to Marathon.
Recently, Eric debuted at the Chicago Marathon finishing in 25th place with a time of 2:17:04 to qualify for his first Olympic Trials.
Eve grew up in Clinton, NJ where she ran for North Hunterdon High School. She was a Footlocker National Finalist in 2014 and continued her running career at Cornell University. At Cornell, she won the ECAC championship in the 5k, was a 2-time Ivy League conference runner-up, and she qualified for the NCAA D1 First Round in the 5k. She is a published poet with an MFA in Creative Writing, cat mom, and a PhD candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. She looks forward to improving on and off the track with the SCTC!
Heidi Heuerman is originally from Upper Arlington, Ohio and attended the University of Wisconsin to run cross country and track. She triple majored in Supply Chain Management, Operational Technology Management, and Marketing. Heidi secured a full time position as a supply chain analyst with W.W. Grainger after a summer internship. She is excited to explore the longest distances and just had a great debut marathon at Chicago running 2:57
Jack was born and raised in West Chester, PA, where he ran for Bayard Rustin High School. He then went on to run for the University of Vermont while obtaining a BS in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Sciences. He currently uses his degree, working as a farmers market manager. After graduating, Jack knew he was interested in pursuing the marathon. He debuted in 2:28 and was able to bring his PR down to 2:24 over the next year. He is very excited to begin competing and training with SCTC.
Jared is from Bluffton, Indiana where he was primarily a 400/800 runner. He went to Indiana Univeristy and competed for the Run Club at Indiana University in the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA). In 2019, Jared was the NIRCA National champ in the 5k and 1500 earning the award of NIRCA National Track MVP. He moved to Chicago in 2022 and became an Assistant Apparel Buyer for Follett in Westchester. In 2022, Jared had a huge PB running a 1:06 half and this spring started strong w/ a new 8k PB of 24:07.
Kendall is from Rochester, MN and ran track and cross country for Mayo High School. She then went on to run at Marquette University while getting her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kendall recently started her new job as a registered nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in the Medical ICU. She is very excited to join SCTC and to see what post college running has in store her after setting a PB in the half in 2023.
Kevin graduated Stanford in 2012 with a degree in Management Science and Engineering. After college, Kevin focused on the half marathon and marathon while maximizing his talent as an endurance runner. After joining the team in 2015, Kevin has improved in every distance highlighted by qualifying for the 2016 US Olympic Marathon Trials. Recently at the 2019 Chicago Marathon, Kevin set a PR running 2:15, a 5 minute improvement which qualified him for his 2nd US Olympic Trials. He hit his 3rd Olympic Trial Qualifier at 2023 Grandmas in June running 2:16.
Kristen is a math teacher and assistant boys cross country coach at Plainfield South. She continues to improve on an impressive PR streak in the marathon from 2:51 in 2011 to 2:38 in 2017. Her career highlights include a second overall finish at the 2016 Shamrock Shuffle and 27th place at the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon.
Kristen competed in her 2nd 2nd Olympic Trials in 2020 finishing in 79th place. After taking some time off to rehab an injury, she is slowly getting back into training with a goal of racing shorter events this spring.
Originally from Lewis Center, Ohio, Lindsay attended Washington University in St. Louis for her undergraduate education, double majoring in psychological & brain sciences and French. There, she was a two-time NCAA All-American, received multiple All-Conference honors under the University Athletic Association, and served as a team captain her senior year. After graduating from WashU, Lindsay continued to use her athletic eligibility at Lipscomb University while she conferred her master’s degree in biomolecular science. She traveled to the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships twice and received Academic All-Conference honors. Lindsay’s favorite part of running is how rewarding it can be when you share it with a team that collectively puts their best foot forward, so she is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue competing with SCTC and be surrounded by people who will make her better.
Maeve is from Seattle, WA and began running her sophomore year of high school. She then attended Wesleyan University where she was a team captain, two-time Dill All-American, and school record holder in the 800m. She graduated this past May with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and recently started a new research position in a clinical psychology lab at Northwestern. She is very excited to be a part of SCTC!
Marcos started running freshman year of high school at Alhambra High School in Phoenix, AZ. and went on to run for and graduate from Wichita State University in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science. He now works for Gatorade as part of the quality department along with balancing training and being a father of 3.
Marcos started with SCTC in 2021 as a 2:25 marathoner and in a few years took his half down to 1:04, marathon to 2:17 qualifying for the Olympic Trials. He just placed 70th overall and is looking to see how good he can be with SCTC in the coming years.
Mike Castellani comes to Chicago via Lansing, MI where he graduated from Michigan State in 2013 with a degree in Supply Chain Management. He started running seriously post college and his recent achievements include a Marathon PR (and top 90 overall finish) in the Chicago Marathon and an overall win in the F3 half marathon in a January 2022. Furthermore, his PR’s at the Blazing 10K and Shamrock Shuffle 8K helped his team finish at or near the top of the podium. Mike just finished off his 2023 season with another PB in the marathon running 2:26.
Oscar was born and raised in Chicago and is very passionate about running. He accomplished his first goal of the year helping the men’s team win Shamrock Shuffle. His other goal for 2019 was hitting the Olympic Trial standard which was accomplished recently at Chicago. Oscar had the race of his life at the Trials; he was the 239th seed and took 51st overall. He just finished off his 2021 by taking 27th at the Chicago Marathon. Oscar just posted a new PB in the marathon running 2:17 then went on to finish 83rd at his 2nd US Olympic Marathon Trials.
Paolo started running at the age of 7, and it’s been a passion and his favorite sport ever since. He was born in the Philippines and grew up in Skokie IL and then attended Loyola Academy high school where he received all-state honors in his senior cross country season. He then went to run at Marquette University for all 4 years, running cross country in the fall and focused on the 5k and 10k during the track seasons. He graduated last May of 2021 pursuing a degree in Marketing and Economics. Paolo just capped off his third year with SCTC with a PB in the half and in the marathon running 2:19 at Berlin.
Rebecca grew up in Hoffman Estates, IL where she ran cross country and track for Fremd High School. She then went on to continue running at Hope college where she received 4 individual MIAA conference titles and All-American honors in both the track 10k and cross country. She was a team captain her senior year and recently graduated in May of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. She currently works for an engineering firm as a Civil Design Engineer. Rebecca looks forward to training for longer races and is very excited to be apart of SCTC!
Sabrina graduated from the University of St. Francis in 2022 where she completed her Bachelors and her Masters in Education. During her time at St. Francis, Sabrina earned 17 All-Americans and holds the school records for the 1500, Mile and 5k. She was primarily a middle distance runner in college and slowly transitioned into the 5k her senior year where she clocked 16:55. After setting a 5k PB in her first season w/ SCTC, Sabrina then capped off her 2023 with a blazing 1:18 debut at Indy. She is just coming off an amazing debut marathon at Chicago running 2:48
Stepan is originally from Siberia and joined SCTC with an impressive resume already including being a 2 x National Champion in the Marathon and runner up 3 x. After his World Major debut last year at Chicago running 2:13; Stepan is currently getting ready for his second major at New York City this fall.
Tess is a prosthetist/orthotist who lives in Chicago. She ran cross country and track at UIC where she holds the majority of the track and xc records. In prosthetics and orthotics graduate school she ran for Club Northwest in Seattle for a year before taking 5 years off competitive running. She is coming off a 5k PB in Indy looking forward to some new PRs in 2024 with SCTC.
Tyler attended Vernon Hills HS in IL where he was All-State in Cross Country. He graduated from Brown University in 2019 with a degree in applied-mathematics biology and is currently a second year medical student at Northwestern. After walking on at Brown, he helped the team to a 5th place Northeast Regional finish in cross country.
Tyler began running with SCTC in 2020 and has had his best season yet, setting PRs in the 8k, 24:29, and half marathon, 68:32, this Spring. After setting a new PB of 2:24 in Chicago, Tyler looks to continued to build on that success with another PB of 2:21 at CIM.
From Winnetka, Illinois, William attended and ran for Loyola Academy and Duke University. Was a member of Loyola’s winningest cross country team in 2009, that finished 4th in the nation at Nike Cross Nationals. After graduating from Duke, William has lived in Boston, New York City, and now Chicago, where he has stayed competitive, running distances from the 5k to the half marathon. William’s most memorable race was winning the New Bedford Half Marathon in 2019 in 1:07:00, which was the USATF Northeast Championship.
William currently works for Wilson Sporting Goods, on their footwear product team. Hopes to build into a strong marathon runner with Second City Track Club and recently had a 17 minute PB at the New York City Marathon running 2:23 and placing 48th overall.
